Frequently Asked Questions
- Is yoga just about stretching?  No, stretching is just one part of a yoga class.  You'll experience strengthening and toning of muscles, balancing, breathing exercises and relaxation of the body and mind.  Yoga seeks to bring together the body, mind and breath.


-I'm not flexible.  Can I practice yoga?  Yes you can.  Modifications are taught so that each pose can be practiced safely by every level of student, beginner to advanced.

-I'm an athlete.  How will yoga help me?  "Yoga will bring you flexibility, balance and whole body strength, leading to better form, efficiency, and power in your sport.  Yoga's emphasis on concentration and breath awareness also improves focus and mental awareness."  Taken from Sage Roundtree's, The Athlete's Guide to Yoga, 2008.

-What should I bring to my first yoga class?  Simply bring yourself.  Yoga mats, as well as all props, are provided.  Once you decide to attend yoga on a regular basis, please purchase your own yoga mat to bring to class.

-What should I wear?  Comfortable, stretchy clothes, that move with you, but aren't too loose.
